Honestly pleasantly surprised with this place! Seems like a little hole in the wall Indian buffet. Decent amount of food choices with the staples. Nothing too extravagant, but just enough. Service was good as well. Lots of parking available. Only complaint is they didn't refill their stuff as fast as I would like for it.
I came here for a lunch buffet with coworkers. For around $20, you get a fantastic buffet of Pakistani-Indian food. This included some goat curry, fish, chicken, biryani, eggplant, spinach, and more, catering to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Naan is brought to each table. My lack of cultural awareness of these types of dishes means my review will fall short of detail, but everything was tasty without being too spicy (presumably catered to the office folks dropping in during lunch). Service was prompt, and the ambiance was nice. I heard from the owner that they are planning to move to their original location located next door soon, which was sadly damaged by a fire. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone in the Memorial area looking to expand their palate.
I am not an Indian food expert by any means, but I have been to a few good Indian restaurants in my time. What I can tell you is this is the best of the bunch. I ate there on a Sunday for their lunch buffet and I found a warm atmosphere with attentive service. Every single dish was top notch. Naan is baked warm and brought to the table with your meal by the wait staff. And it is some of the best naan I have ever had. My favorite dish was the honey chicken which was not sweet with a hint of spice. An amazing balance of flavors that I will remember. Chicken tikka masala was really good and perfectly tender. Desserts were a great finish with my favorite being the suji halva which had a subtle sweetness with a hint of cardamon. I was able to get the buffet to go, so my wife could enjoy all of these dishes too. The only downside is I live in the Austin area and I have to travel 2 hours to enjoy the best Indian food this side of New Delhi! I will definitely be back and I may just make a special trip in order to enjoy this again.
My first visit to Nirvana and I look forward to coming back! I tried the chicken, cheese and mushroom cannoli (creamy, cheesy and delicious) and my companion had the salad Fresca (glazed pecans, chicken chunks fresh salad greens, light and very tasty). Only complaint was that we may have overdone it on the thin crispy slices of Parmesan bread which were SO good! Service was prompt and efficient. Also worth noting: the restaurant is quiet enough that we could carry on a conversation without raising our voices even with other diners nearby which was much appreciated!
Stopped in here on an evening that was buffet only. We were not aware of this but it was a nice opportunity to try different things on the menu. This is the first restaurant I've been to where the naan is free. Including garlic naan. And it's soooo goood!! Not sure if this is only on buffet nights but it was a pleasant surprise. The buffet is sorted so one side is non-veg and the other is vegetarian. There is also a little salad/condiment bar with chutney's. The service was great with empty trays being replaced quickly. There were also 3 different desserts but i stuck with my favorite - gulab jamun. My only complaint would be the drink/sizes. Some of my family got small glasses others got larger glasses. Since this is an additional charge, they should all be the same sizes.
This place is far from me, but I like to come at least a couple times a year regardless. I ordered the Butter Chicken tonight and it was very delicious, good quality, creamy, tomatoey and full of soft chicken pieces. The gravy was very well-seasoned and more on the sweet side than tangy. The rice n salad were very fresh and good with the curry too. Great, attentive and friendly service again on this visit.
They have a great lunch buffet. Variety of food. My only complaint is that vegetarians shouldn't have to pay the same as a non veg buffet. Service was great and the food is tasty. I loved the deserts the fruit custard and the raas malai. The naan was warm and fresh. The papad was stale
